[ 4 ] Are You Working-out Right?

Many of us may not have the liberty of engaging a professional trainer. Be it body-building or burning off excess calories, one should bear in mind some safety tips to prevent injury.

Before and after any workouts, it is important to stretch properly to decrease the risk of muscle injury. Also, long moderate workouts tend to be more effective as compared to short intense ones.

Treadmills and stair-steppers usually come with handrails. However, leaning on the handrails are highly discouraged as this strains your wrists and back.

Next, the jerking action that seems to make lifting weights easier actually puts your muscles at risk of being injured. Concentrate fully on flexing and relaxing your muscles as you lift the weights. Always start from lighter weights before progressing to heavier ones.

Lastly, should you be unfamiliar with any gym equipment, do not hesitate to seek help from the professionals.
